The start of the school year may seem like a bummer to some kids, but rarely so for parents.

The South St. Paul public library is inviting moms and dads to stop by on Tuesday to celebrate and enjoy some much-needed time with other adults. There will also be a brief presentation about what the library has to offer (other than some peace and quiet).

The event is from 9 to 10 a.m. No registration is necessary. The library is located at 106 3rd Av. N.

ROSEMOUNT

Antiques event is Sept. 14

An "Antiques Roadshow"-style appraisal event is coming to Rosemount on Sept. 14, and residents are invited to bring their antiques or just pop in to watch the show.

The "Antique Show & Tell" event is from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Steeple Center, 14375 S. Robert Trail. It will feature antique appraiser Carole Kralicek, who has done more than 400 estate sales and roadshow-style events, according to the Rosemount Area Arts Council, which is sponsoring the event.

All antiques must be registered in advance by Sept. 10, and there's a limit of two antiques per person at a cost of $10 per antique. Admission is $5 to attend the show without an appraisal.

For more information or to register, see www.rosemountaac.org/Antique-2013.html or call 651-600-8693.
