Lynx update: Minnesota has rebounded from three consecutive losses by winning three of its past four games. That has been enough to keep a one-game lead over Los Angeles atop the Western Conference. G/F Maya Moore has averaged better than 25 points per game in that stretch. G/F Seimone Augustus has been nearly as efficient. Coming off an 8-for-10 performance against Indiana on Saturday, Augustus has shot 21-for-38 (55.3 percent) over her past three games. C Janel McCarville has scored in double figures in two consecutive games, making 10 of 12 shots in the process. PG Lindsay Whalen, battling soreness, took Monday’s practice off but is fine to play Tuesday.
Liberty update: The Liberty ended a three-game losing streak with a victory at Connecticut on Sunday, which pulled them within a game of fourth-place Indiana in the East. G Katie Smith — the only Liberty starter in double figures against the Lynx Aug. 18 — has scored 11 or more points in three of four games.
