Forecasters are calling for one more day of oppressive heat and humidity Wednesday for the Twin Cities metro area, with high temperatures in or near the 90s.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has a heat advisory in effect for a second consecutive day in eastern Minnesota, this one covering the hours of noon to 7 p.m. It stretches as far north as North Branch and all the way to near the Iowa border.

The "feels like" temperature could top 100 degrees, the NWS added.

There is a modest chance for a thundershower Wednesday afternoon in the Twin Cities, where a high of 88 is being predicted.

As the State Fair cranks up starting Thursday, highs will stay in the low to mid-80s for the next several days, before another shot at the 90s returns on Sunday, according to the NWS.
