7 p.m. vs. San Antonio • NBA-TV, 106.1-FM

Lynx update: The Lynx enter the second half of the season as the WNBA’s hottest team with a seven-game winning streak, and defense is the biggest reason. Opponents have averaged 37.7 percent shooting during the streak, turned the ball over 18.1 times per game and scored fewer than 64 points. Minnesota, which has won 11 of its past 13 games vs. San Antonio, has won twice against the Silver Stars this season, by 10 points at home on June 11 and by 16 at San Antonio on July 19. PG Lindsay Whalen has gone 18-for-30 shooting in those games, averaging 22 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists. Maya Moore has averaged 16.5 points against San Antonio this season.

Silver Stars update: Despite dealing with several injuries, the Silver Stars did win their final two games before the All-Star break. San Antonio (6-12) is fifth in the Western Conference, 8½ games behind the Lynx. F Danielle Adams (13.2 points per game) and G Jia Perkins (13.0) are the leading scorers. The Silver Stars have had to play virtually the entire season without G Becky Hammon and F Sophia Young. Hammon missed the first part of the season because of a broken finger and then tore a knee ligament in her first game back. Young (knee) has been out all season. F DeLisha Milton-Jones (knee) is questionable for this game.
