A fashion show without lights and music is like a bar without beer and peanuts. You can’t have one without the other, and Friday's Glamorama is hoping to serve up the best of both.
The 22nd annual Macy’s-sponsored fall fashion and music event features performances by Sheryl Crow, Cirque du Soleil and iHeartRadio Rising Star contest winner the Summer Set. Runway looks come from Jean Paul Gaultier, Tommy Hilfiger, Rachel Roy and others.
“Glamorama is just as much of a light show as it is a fashion show and music concert,” said Mike Gansmoe, Macy’s vice president of special productions.
The stage will be filled with 80 LED panels and more than 725,000 pixels creating the runway’s bold backdrop.
Fashion-wise, Paul Anthony, Macy’s special productions and fashion manager, said there’s something for everyone on the runway.
“We’re really shining a light on pattern play and texture mixture,” Anthony said. “Fashion is meant to be fun, so don’t be afraid to take a risk every now and then.”
Here’s a preview of some fall trends straight from the Glamorama runway.
