Today's rush hour didn't have many crashes or incidents, but motorists in the south metro endured the worst of the delays, most stemming from the repair work on the Bloomington Ferry Bridge.

That led to backups on northbound 169 from County Road 18 to Old Shakopee Road that began around 5:30 a.m. and remain in place. The delays through there were anywhere from 12 to 20 minutes.

Other routes saw heavier than normal levels of traffic as drivers must have tried other ways to work. Northbound Cedar Avenue was clogged during the mid-moring as was northbound 35E and northbound 35W.

Drivers on northbound 35W will still find pockets of slow and go traffic from Crystal Lake Road to the Minnesota River Bridge.

North metro drivers on 35W had commutes of 30 minutes from 95th Avenue to downtown Minneapolis for a bulk of the rush. At present, that drive is closer to 25 minutes.

A wreck on westbound 94 at Portland Avenue has traffic backing up to near Cedar Avenue.

Other wrecks are on northbound Hwy. 100 at Hwy. 55 and northbound 35W at Cliff Road on the right shoulder.

MnDOT is working on a road buckle on westbound 94 in Albertville. The freeway is down to a single lane County 37 to past County 19. That is expected to be repaired by 10 a.m.
