The WNBA announced the list of most popular jerseys, and it is a testament to marketing.

No surprise, right?

The league signed an enhanced deal with ESPN before this season, and then the network decided to market the season focusing on the top young talent about to enter the league. The "3 to see'' included top draft pick Brittney Griner, guard Skylar Diggins and guard/forward Elena Delle Donne, who went 1-2-3 in the draft to Phoenix, Chicago and Tulsa, respectively.

Well, those three players topped the list of top 10 most popular player jerseys released by the league today.

Griner, Diggins and Delle Donne rank one, two and three on the list. Fourth is Lynx star Maya Moore, who held the No. 1 spot the past two seasons.

Here is the complete list:

1. Brittney Griner, Phoenix

2. Skylar Diggins, Tulsa

3. Elena Delle Donne, Chicago Sky

4. Maya Moore, Minnesota Lynx

5. Candace Parker, Los Angeles

6. Diana Taurasi, Phoenix

7. Seimone Augustus, Minnesota Lynx

8. Tamika Catchings, Indiana

9. Nneka Ogwumike

10. Becky Hammon, San Antonio.

Team-wise, the Tulsa Shock is selling more merchandise than any other team, followed by Phoenix and Chicago. Washington is fourth, and Indiana fifth.

Meanwhile, the reserves for Saturday's All-Star Game will be announced Tuesday, and the Lynx – who are already represented by starters Moore and Augustus and the Lynx coaching staff – figure to have at least one and possibly two more players named to the Western Conference team.

Point guard Lindsay Whalen would appear to be a lock for a spot on the team. I believe Whalen is the single most important player on the Lynx roster, both because of her talent and the position she plays. And there is a chance forward Rebekkah Brunson could get on the team as well.
