Did One Direction age five years in 15 months, or was it just me? The guys looked significantly older and less clean-cut than they do in most of their promo photos. It’s as if their team has a stash of pictures on file from a couple years ago that they keep dusting off as “new.” Part of the problem might have been their attire: tight T-shirts or muscle shirts and jeans instead of preppy wear, which allowed them to show off their tats and biceps.

Some other random, leftover observations from the show.

**The guys aren't very funny. Their Q&A via Twitter resulted in only a few minor chuckles, such as when one fan asked if they could speak a Minnesota accent (a woman coached them on long "oh's"). Least funny of all was the long bit at the end where they went into a long, dissertation like speech on which kinds of soup they like best. Holy boring!

**The guys need to work on their fan-riling stage banter. They seriously must've told the crowd that they were the loudest/craziest/rowdiest crowd on the tour 15 times in the show. Even the 15-year-olds in the crowd saw through the act.

**Opening boy-band 5 Seconds of Summer actually were a band. Like with guitars and drums and stuff. What a bunch of show-offs! The Australian quartet, which only formed a year ago, made a big impression on the young crowd with their punchy but still light-as-air pop-rock tunes. They're bound to be heard from again.
