MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will attend a big Republican conference in Michigan in September.

The Michigan Republican Party on Tuesday said Walker will speak at the 30th Biennial Mackinac Republican Leadership Conference on Mackinac Island. Additional speakers will be announced at a later date.

Walker is seeking re-election after winning the governor's office in 2010 and surviving a recall last year. Walker is also frequently mentioned as a potential presidential candidate in 2016, but he has said he's focused on winning re-election.

Walker says Michigan and Wisconsin have been great partners and the meeting is a way to "unite again on the issues that matter to hardworking, Midwestern families."

The conference is Sept. 20-22 at the Grand Hotel. It attracts presidential hopefuls and brings together activists and candidates.
