As was promised months ago, Pizza Lucé is bringing back its beloved block party on Aug. 10 after a year off but moving it to a new location. The new site will be outside the original Lucé at 119 N. 4th Street in downtown Minneapolis’s Warehouse District, a move made in part to mark the eatery’s 20th anniversary there but also to circumvent overcrowding problems that plagued the last few years at the Uptown site. Party organizer Corey Sax explained that 4th Street will be blocked off, and the stage will be set up in the parking lot on the corner of 1st Avenue (next to the Fine Line).
The headliner for the party cannot be announced until July 22, due to contractual obligations with another local gig. When pushed, all Sax would say offer as a hint is: “Remember: All of the past Pizza Lucé Block Party headliners have been Minnesota-bred acts.” Let the guessing begin.
All the Lucé Block Party lineups have also been unusually eclectic, and this year’s is no exception, with a little sludge and deathcore metal, twang and hip-hop. Here’s who’s on the bill besides the unnamed final act:

"It's been a little challenging moving into the new location," Sax admitted of the party planning, "but we've gotten a lot of great feedback leading up to it. It seems like people really did miss it last year."
