Volunteers mounted their final large search for missing 24-year-old Mandy Matula Sunday but were unable to recover any new evidence about her disapperance.

Steven Matula, Mandy's brother, joined about 40 friends and relatives at Mississippi River Park in Rice, Minn. They covered about an eight-mile stretch of water before ending the search around 6 p.m.

There wasn't any law enforcement at the search, but police continue to investigate Matula's disappearance from her Eden Prairie home about 2½ months ago.

Numerous searches in Victoria, Eden Prairie and St. Cloud haven't turned up any significant clues.

Mandy Matula was last seen May 1 leaving her home while arguing with her ex-boyfriend, David Roe. Her family says he was determined to resume their relationship. The next morning, after Roe, 24, of Victoria, was called in for questioning, he fatally shot himself in the police parking lot.

Steven Matula said Sunday that he didn't know yet what he will do now, but any searches would be small in scale.

"I'm not giving up hope," he said.
