The search continues for the driver who ran a stop sign and killed a bicyclist in south Minneapolis.

Jessica Hanson, 24, was riding to her boyfriend's house about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday when she was hit near 28th Street and Pleasant Avenue S. She died two days later.

Police said the driver had been going faster than the speed limit with the vehicle's lights off and the ran the stop sign. The driver fled, and police don't have a solid description of the vehicle. Hanson wasn't wearing a helmet, according to friends.

Hanson, lived in the Uptown neighborhood and was a server at Republic, a bar in the area. Relatives have pleaded with the driver to go to the police.

Hanson is the second bicyclists to be killed in Minneapolis in a hit-and-run this year. On March 30, Elyse Mary Stern, 28, was killed at the intersection of E. Lake Street and Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis. The driver, Juan Ricardo Hernandez-Campoceco, will be sentenced in her death Monday.
