7:50 a.m. update: I-694 is passing the test

Commuters on I-694 are finding that predictions of gridlock through the work zone from Hwy. 100 and East River Road have not come true. Yes, there are minor delays, but nothing like we saw yesterday.
Of course, that traffic had to go somewhere. We're seeing that on Hwy. 610 westbound and on southbound 35W.
On 35W, from 95th Avenue down to Hennepin Avenue, it's 30 to 35 minutes with the heaviest traffic from Johnson Street to downtown.
Westbound 94 is rather unpleasant today. Plan on 40 minutes from 694 in Maplewood over to downtown Minneapolis. A crash at Huron Blvd. is not helping the cause.
Northbound 35W is languishing from County 42 up to 494. That is 15 minutes.
The same is true on southbound 494 from the Fish Lake Interchange to I-394. That is 20 minutes.
