Where everybody knows its name

Here’s a little known fact: “Cheers” (10 a.m. and 4 p.m., TVGN) is all but taking over the TV Guide Network with a couple of two-hour blocks every weekday. See how well the long-running series holds up after all these years.

The sword and the sorceress

Turner Classic Movies continues its monthlong tribute to Eleanor Parker with a focus on her years at MGM. The action kicks off with 1951’s “Scaramouche” (7 p.m., TCM), a swashbuckler set in 18th-century France. Stewart Granger and Mel Ferrer handle the swashing.

Candle in the wind

Marilyn Monroe gets sympathetic treatment in “Love, Marilyn” (8 p.m., HBO), a moving documentary that largely consists of stars including Glenn Close, Adrien Brody and Viola Davis reading actual letters and telegrams from Monroe and her contemporaries. It’s a little painful to observe the participation of Lindsay Lohan. who may be heading down a tragic path of her own.
