Local pitchers Chris Anderson of Centennial High School and Tom Windle of the Gophers have signed contracts with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who made the pair their first two picks in last week's amateur draft.

Anderson, taken No. 18 overall, signed for slightly more than $2.1 million while Windle, a former Osseo High School athlete who was the 56th overall pick, received $986,500. Both bonus amounts were the designated slot amounts for their respective draft positions.

Anderson, 20, pitched at Jacksonville University after leaving Centennial, has touched 97 miles per hour with his fastball.

Windle overcame a shoulder injury as a sophomore with the Gophers to post a 6-4 record with a 2.14 ERA this season.

Veilleux re-signs

The Wild re-signed veteran winger Stephane Veilleux to a two-year, $1.175 million contract Wednesday. It's a two-way contract, meaning he would make a lesser salary if he plays at AHL Iowa. He would have to clear waivers to get there.

Veilleux, who has played 382 of his 460 NHL games for the Wild, appeared in 33 games for Houston last season and two playoff games for the Wild after not playing in any regular-season games.
