Pilot wins, named to Hall of Fame

It was a big Monday for Claudia Pilot. A member of Austin Country Club, Pilot not only won her fourth Minnesota Golf Association Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, but she was also named as an inductee to the MGA-PGA Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame.

Pilot shot even-par 72 Monday for a two-round total of 151 in Brainerd, four strokes in front of first-round leader Kendal Hake and six-time champion Leigh Klasse. Pilot won the tournament for the first time in 10 years.

In addition, Pilot was one of five people who will be inducted in the Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame as its Class of 2013. The others are Larry Murphy, Rosalyn Wisen, W.R. (Ray) Smith and C.T. (Clive) Jaffray.
