Trevor Plouffe is headed to the 15-day disabled list due to a sprained left calf suffered during pre-game work.

Plouffe was going through his standard routine when he suffered the injury. The Twins checked to see if they could back date the move to May 21, when he suffered a concussion while sliding into second base in Atlanta. No dice, the league said.

Chris Colabello has arrived from Class AAA Rochester and will replace Plouffe on the roster. Colabello was put on a plane earlier today when the Twins began to fear the worst.

The Twins would like to be as healthy as possible, but they have have four of their last five games without Plouffe and are in position to sweep the Brewers tonight at Target Field.

Darin Mastroianni has had the cast removed from his left foot. He will wear a walking boot for about two weeks.

Kyle Lohse faces the Twins for the first time in the regular season. He's been battling some elbow issues but said a couple days ago that his elbow feels great, ``for a 34-year old." The Brewers have scored a total of 19 runs in Lohse's nine starts. In six of his nine starts, the Brewers have scored two or fewer runs.

Rochester beat Lehigh Valley 13-10 earlier today. Clete Thomas, Oswaldo Arcia Deibinson Romero and Jeff Clement each homered. Arcia was 4-for-5 with a homer, double and three runs scored.

Kyle Gibson gave up six runs over six innings on eight hits and two walks while striking out six. Looks like he was O.K. through five, having giving up three runs, but the Iron Pigs got him late.

Dark clouds are in the area, but we are expected to start on time here.

Carlos Gomez has batted first, third and fifth in this four-game series.

Don't forget, the teams are wearing 1948 uniforms tonight as part of Turn Back the Clock Night
