A few project of note this week, but over all a quiet week in the world of road construction

The ramp from Lexington Ave. to westbound I-694 in Arden Hills has closed. The closure will allow crews to rebuild the new alignments of westbound I-694 and westbound Highway 10.  The detour for both County Road 96 and Lexington Avenue to reach westbound I-694 will be Lexington Avenue to Victoria Street to westbound I-694. Detour signs will direct motorists when the ramp is closed.  The ramp will reopen by November.

During the evenings next week motorists on Interstate 494 between Highway100 and Cedar Avenue in Bloomington will experience delays as lanes in both directions of the freeway close.

Beginning at 7 p.m. through Saturday, both directions of I-494 between Highway 100 and Cedar Avenue will be reduced to two lanes.

At 10 p.m. the roadway will be reduced to a single lane. All lanes will open by 6 a.m. daily through Friday and by 8 a.m. Saturday.

Motorists will encounter detours on the frontage roads south of I-494 in Bloomington as the roadways close at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Southtown Drive between Penn Avenue South and American Boulevard will close.

On the same dates and times, Clover Drive between American Boulevard and Lyndale Avenue will close.

Both frontage roads will re-open by 6 a.m. the following days.

In Hastings, Hwy 61 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction through the intersection of Hwy 10/Point Douglas Drive and Hwy 61 on the north side of the river. There will be one lane of traffic open in each direction on Hwy 61, just as it is now, except the single lane configuration will now be extended north through the Hwys 10/61 intersection - the intersection will remain open and accessible.  I anticipate significant delays if you are traveling southbound on Hwy 61, and potentially as far back as Hwy 95. Please be patient during peak travel times. An alternative route that you may consider is Hwy 55

West River Parkway will be reduced to one traffic lane between Portland Avenue South and 11th Avenue South from 9: a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday.  During these times, construction personnel will be present to direct two-way traffic.
