St. Scholastica upset St. Thomas 1-0 on Wednesday in the opening game of the NCAA Division III baseball regional at Whitewater, Wis. Kyle Jensen and Thomas Rogers combined for a six-hit shutout for the Saints (28-9). Jensen pitched the first six innings and gave up four hits, Rogers threw the last three. Steve Mahler of the Tommies (33-6), ranked No. 2 nationally, gave up seven singles in eight innings. The Saints scored an unearned run on a throwing error in the seventh.

The Minnesota Section PGA professionals defeated the Minnesota Golf Association amateurs 22-18 in the 37th MGA/PGA Cup Matches at Indian Hills Golf Club. The PGA increasesd its series lead to 27-8-2.
