Minnesota thankfully has no shortage of rappers making strong statements about female empowerment, but the three women in the Chalice aren't among them. At least not when they're all together, which seems to always result in a rowdy good time. Houston native Lizzo and Ohio transplant Sophia Eris first bonded over a "Bootylicious" karaoke session after meeting up in Minneapolis, and they later hooked up with St. Peter, Minn.-reared singer/songwriter Claire de Lune at a party. They kept the party going in their high-energy live shows, and on their 2012 debut EP in such tracks as "Ladies Night" and "Crown on the Rocks." Newer collaborations with a variety of producers, including Lazerbeak of Doomtree fame, show a more serious side, but the fun has not worn off in the slightest. Facebook.com/WeAretheChalice
