Few creative endeavors are more thanklessly noble than attempting to launch and keep afloat a literary magazine in the age of Twitter. But the all-volunteer staff behind Paper Darts soldier on for the unpaid love of art and lit in between their day jobs, and manage to make it look like they're having a party doing it. They publish fiction, poetry, artwork and interviews online whenever they feel like it, and produce print issues occasionally — with nary an ounce of stuffiness, pretension or superiority. paperdarts.org
