VIENNA - The U.N. nuclear agency says its experts will meet Iranian counterparts on May 15 in Vienna for talks focused on restarting a probe into suspicions that Tehran secretly worked on atomic arms.
Their last meeting in February extended a string of inconclusive attempts by the International Atomic Energy Agency to re-launch investigations stalled for more than five years.
Tehran says IAEA suspicions are based on phony U.S. and Israeli intelligence. It also dismisses concerns that its uranium enrichment program is meant for bombs, insisting the aim is to generate power.
Iran has said it will not agree to cooperate with an IAEA probe as long as demands that it has a right to enrich uranium go unrecognized.
The agency's statement Tuesday confirmed what diplomats told The Associated Press last week.
