With few options to make up games and two contests hanging in the balance Tuesday, the Minnesota Twins are prepping Target Field for a chilly afternoon and evening of baseball.

Nearly all of the several inches of snow from Monday has been melted off the radiated field at the roofless stadium, with the first pitch in the day-night doubleheader vs. the Miami Marlins scheduled for 1:10 p.m. The evening contest is scheduled to start at 7:10 p.m.

Tuesday's high temperature will flirt with cracking 40, according to the National Weather Service. But for that night game, don't be surprised if it's below freezing by the time the final out is made.

The Twins, now early in their fourth season since leaving the Metrodome, have already had three home games postponed during this wintry April.

Things turn more spring-like for the Boys of Summer late in the week. After an off-day Wednesday, temperatures will hit the 40s on Thursday for the first of four games vs. the visiting Texas Rangers. By games 3 and 4, the open-air stadium should be basking in readings well into the 60s.
