Returning to his roots

One of TV's most innovative creators reminds us that he's still a great stand-up with "Louis C.K.: Oh My God" (9 p.m. Saturday, HBO), which covers everything from murder to the food chain. As long as he keeps churning out specials like this, we'll forgive him for a yearlong delay in restarting his brilliant sitcom,"Louie."

The Jackson One

Why doesn't it surprise me that La Toya Jackson is best friends with Paris' mom, Kathy Hilton? That nugget and more are revealed on "Life With La Toya" (9:30 p.m. Saturday, OWN), a new reality series that folllows the semi-celebrity as she looks for a home, a boyfriend and, hopefully, some self-dignity.

A new administration

"Nurse Jackie" (8 p.m. Sunday, Showtime) returns for Season 5 without its creators, former Minnesotans Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius. They've been replaced by former "Dexter" showrunner Clyde Phillips, which means there's an awfully good chance that Edie Falco's character will take on a serial-killing doctor and start having a strange attraction to her brother.
