Arden Hills pedestrian, Crystal motorcyclist killed

A 23-year-old motorcyclist died Sunday after crashing into a car in Brooklyn Park following a chase in which State Patrol troopers clocked him at more than 100 miles per hour on Interstate 94.
Officers reported that Tyron Somaiah of Crystal ran a red light shortly after 6 p.m. and crashed into a car at the intersection of Brooklyn Boulevard and Welcome Av. N.
The driver of the car suffered a minor injury in the crash, the State Patrol said.
Also Sunday, a 55-year-old Arden Hills woman died after being hit by a vehicle in Shoreview.
Ramsey County sheriff’s officials said the woman, a pedestrian, has not been identified.
She was hit at the intersection of Lexington Av. and Victoria St. about 3:15 p.m.
Sheriff’s spokesman Randy Gustafson said the driver was cooperating with the Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol as they investigate the incident. He said the victim will likely be identified on Monday.
