Jim Konrad, Department of Natural Resources enforcement director for the past four years, is retiring.
Konrad, 56, of Plymouth, a 30-year veteran of the DNR, is retiring June 1. He was a conservation officer for 22 years in the Lake Minnetonka area. He grew up in Bismark, N.D., and began his law enforcement career as a copy in Morrhead.
“I always wanted to be a game warden,’’ he told the Star Tribune in 2009 when he was appointed enforcement chief by then-DNR Commissioner Mark Holsten.
