'Flashdance'
Opening Tuesday: Adapted from the 1983 film that helped to make leotards and leg warmers famous, this musical waltzes into Minnesota for the first time. Can a young Pittsburgh welder who dances in bars at night win admission to a prestigious academy and become a professional performer? As they say, if you're here for the plot, you've come to the wrong show. The score includes a pack of 1980s radio hits: "Flashdance — What a Feeling," "Maniac" and "Manhunt." (7:30 p.m. Tue.-Thu., 8 p.m. Fri., 2 & 8 p.m. Sat., 1& 6:30 p.m. next Sun. $34-$99. Orpheum Theatre, 910 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. 1-800-982-2787 or www.hennepintheatretrust.org.)
