An overhead sign on westbound 94 in St. Paul is telling motorists to "Use Other Routes." That's sage advice as a huge traffic jam is developing. Traffic comes to a standstill at Johnson Pkwy.
The reason for the warning is police activity on the Lafayette Bridge. Westbound 94 is closed at Mounds Blvd. and traffic is being diverted onto the exit. Look for heavy traffic on 7th Street heading into downtown St. Paul.
Northbound Hwy. 52 is closed at Eaton Blvd. due to the same police activity.
In Minneapolis, two lanes are blocked on westbound 94 just after Hwy. 280. Sounds like injuries with this wreck. Traffic slows at Hwy. 280.
