The Heat has (not have) won 14 consecutive games heading into the second of back-to-back games against the Wolves tonight. In yesterday's game against the Knicks, LeBron James landed awkwardly and tweaked his knee a bit. It doesn't sound serious, but the Miami Herald reported this:
As a precautionary measure, forward LeBron James said he planned to have his knee checked out by a team doctor once the Heat arrived in Minneapolis on Sunday night.
While going for an alley-oop dunk in the third quarter of the Heat’s 99-93 victory over the Knicks, James was hit in the air by a defender and fell awkwardly to the court. James appeared to hyperextend his left leg and then grabbed his knee. It was a scary moment for James, the Heat and NBA. James finished the game with 29 points, going 12 of 23 from the field. He also had 11 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.
“I was able to finish the game strong but things are always a little worse the next day,” James said. “We’ve got to fly to Minnesota, but I believe I’ll be in the lineup [Monday], though.”
ESPN's Brian Windhorst tweeted virtually the same thing recently, that James' knee responded well and he's hoping to be in the lineup.
LeBron's knee responded well to flight & treatment he's hoping to play tonight at Wolves, a source told ESPN— Brian Windhorst (@WindhorstESPN) March 4, 2013
Here's the question: If you have a ticket to tonight's game and you are a Timberwolves fan, do you: 1) Hope LeBron doesn't play because it gives the Wolves a better chance of stopping Miami's long winning streak or 2) Hope LeBron does play because it's LeBron?
