Police searched for the suspect in a shooting of a man inside a downtown Minneapolis bar early Sunday.

The 27-year-old man was shot in the leg as he left a restroom just before 2 a.m. at Augie's Bourbon Street Cabaret at 424 Hennepin Av. The injury wasn't life threatening, said police Sgt. William Palmer.

Nobody has been arrested, and Palmer said there was no reason for the general public to be concerned. Augie's had about 60 police calls last year, which police say is not excessive for a downtown club.

Crime in the Warehouse District got the attention of City Hall last summer after a number of shootings near downtown clubs at closing time. Events open to patrons under 21 on Sunday nights appeared to be incubators for late-night violence, police said.

City officials have said that 80 percent of the violent crimes downtown occur between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m., largely on Saturdays and Sundays. One of the bloodier incidents last year occurred after bars closed June 25. A 2 a.m. shooting near the Gay 90s nightclub sent three bystanders to the hospital with gunshot wounds
