Police have yet to find the body of a missing St. Paul woman who is presumed dead, but they said Saturday that they have received some leads with the help of a tip line.

Since St. Paul police started the phone tip line Friday to help collect information on the disappearance and apparent death of 30-year-old Kira Trevino, they have been contacted numerous times, said spokesman Howie Padilla.

Police have received several leads that they are working to follow up on, Padilla said.

He encouraged anyone with information about Trevino's disappearance to come forward.

"Any little piece of information is going to help us put the puzzle together," Padilla said.

The tip line — 651-560-3277 — is answered 24 hours a day, and text messages can also be sent to it.

Trevino was reported missing by her husband Feb. 24 after she had been gone for two days. Prosecutors have charged the husband, Jeffery D. Trevino, 39, with two counts of second-degree murder.

A search of the couple's East Side home in the 500 block of E. Iowa Avenue revealed signs of a bloody struggle.

Investigators concluded that Kira Trevino suffered more than one forceful blow, and that evidence, along with inconsistent statements he gave police, led to her husband's arrest.
