Gophers women-Penn State game preview

Gophers at a glance: Minnesota plays host to No. 7 Penn State in its final home game of the season. The Gophers almost pulled off an upset last month, falling 64-59 at Penn State. Rachel Banham leads the Big Ten in scoring with 21.2 points per game. Micaella Riche is averaging 12.8 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game. Riche is second in the conference in field goal percentage with a 52.2 conversion rate. Minnesota leads the Big Ten with a 44.6 field goal percentage. Four players scored in double figures Sunday, but the Gophers still fell to No. 25 Purdue 75-63, pushing them to a 5-9 conference record.
Penn State at a glance: The Lady Lions hold a share of the Big Ten title with a 13-1 conference record and 23-3 overall mark. They can win it outright with a victory Thursday, which would crown them back-to-back champs. Maggie Lucas, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Week, scored 21 points with five rebounds, two steals and three assists to lead Penn State over Michigan 68-57 on Sunday. Lucas is averaging 19.9 points per game and shooting 47.8 percent from behind the arc. Penn State is outscoring its opponents by 16.6 points per game and leads the conference with a 39.7 percent three-point shooting average.
