Friday-next Sunday: Beyond Ballroom Dance Company celebrates its 10th anniversary with a reprise of its popular work “Dinner for Seven” at the Cowles Center. The work combines aspects of competitive ballroom dance and concert dance in an evening that defies traditional expectations of what ballroom dancing should look like. A wide variety of movement styles will be featured, including Latin, swing dance and many others. The troupe will also welcome several of its original members to the stage as well as guest artists for a display of highly technical and impeccably artistic dancing. Pictured from left in “Dinner for Seven” are Jay Larson, Shane Haggerty, Deanne Michael, Chris Kempainen, Julie Jacobson, Charlie Hardcastle and Christine Hardcastle. (8 p.m. Fri-Sat., 2 p.m. next Sun. $28-$31. Cowles Center, 528 Hennepin Av. S., Mpls. 612-206-3600, or www.thecowlescenter.org.)
