Amanda Kessel always seems to score when the Gophers women's hockey team needs a goal.

The junior winger did it again on Friday, scoring the tiebreaking goal late in the second period as the Gophers beat Ohio State 5-2 in Columbus, Ohio. Her 38th goal of the season, on a power play, broke a 2-all tie.

The victory for the No. 1 Gophers (29-0-0, 23-0-0 WCHA) was their 37th in a row going back to last season. It also was their 22nd consecutive on the road. Both of those streaks are NCAA records and the Gophers set another national mark for the most road wins in a season. This was their 15th in 2012-13.

Bethany Brauser, who had two goals, and Megan Bozek gave the Gophers a 2-0 lead early in the second period. But the Buckeyes (16-11-2, 11-10-2) tied the score on goals 2:18 apart by Danielle Gagne and Hokey Langan in the middle of the second period.

Kessel's game-winner came at 14:37 of the second period. Rachael Bona and Brausen scored for the Gophers in the third period.
