"Once," the Tony-winning stage adaptation of Irishman John Carney's 2006 film, is coming to Minneapolis next season, the Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced Monday.

The musical (April 1-6, 2014) about an Irish street musician and the music-loving Czech flower vendor who draws out his creativity is part of a 2013-14 touring Broadway season that has new titles and old favorites.

The slate includes five-time Tony winner "Peter and the Starcatcher," which is to "Peter Pan" what "Wicked" is to "The Wizard of Oz." "Starcatcher" offers a back story about how Peter Pan came to be (March 11-16, 2014).

There also is the nun musical "Sister Act" (May 6-11, 2014) and "Ghost: The Musical" (June 18-23, 2014).

The trust's new season, whose productions take place at the Orpheum Theatre, features the London touring production of "We Will Rock You," a revue centered on the music of Queen (Nov. 19-24, 2013). It also includes "Evita," the Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber musical about charismatic Argentinean first lady Eva Peron (Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2014).

Minneapolis will be the site of the premiere of a new staging of "The Phantom of the Opera" (Dec. 13, 2013-Jan. 5, 2014) as well as return engagements of "Les Misérables" (July 30-Aug. 4, 2013), "Wicked" (Sept. 18-Oct. 27, 2013) and "Mamma Mia!" (Feb. 18-23, 2014).

The trust and Theater Latté Da recently teamed up for a critically lauded collaborative production of "Aida" that starred Austene Van. The partners will work together again on a locally originated production of "Cabaret" as part of its Broadway Re-Imagined series (Jan. 15-Feb. 9, 2014 at the Pantages Theatre).

Ticket packages, $200-$709, are available. Individual tickets go on sale at a later date. 1-800-859-7469 or HennepinTheatreTrust.org.
