Letter of the Day (Jan. 26): Winter
- January 26, 2013 - 7:22 AM
Dear Minnesota Winter
I heart you. Yep. Bring it. The snow. The cold and the really, really cold.
I moved here from the Arizona desert in November and will take the invigorating frigid weather over the oppressive headache-inducing heat of a Phoenix summer. Anytime.
I'd rather put on layers or sit by a fireplace with hot cocoa than beat the stifling heat six months a year. There's nothing worse than scorching your flesh in hot cars, walking a dog at 6 a.m. when it's already 105 degrees outside and paying monthly summer electric bills for a small, two-bedroom apartment to the tune of $300.
Plus, I grew up in the land of Minnesota nice. So after 25 years, who says you can't go home again? Not me!
