ST. CLOUD, Minn. - Democrats have endorsed Joanne Dorsher for the vacated House District 14A seat at a convention that was closed to the public.

A St. Cloud Times reporter tried to enter the convention Saturday at St. Cloud Public Library and Dorsher's campaign manager, Doug Clark, asked him to leave.

Clark told the paper (http://on.sctimes.com/11GYZzl) he decided to close the convention because they were worried about a "Republican tracker." Trackers are operatives from an opposing party who follow candidates with recording devices in hopes of recording a gaffe.

Dorsher was the only DFL candidate who filed for the Feb. 12 special election.

In a statement, Dorsher said the decision to close the convention was made without her knowledge. She says her campaign plans to post a convention video online.
