True colors

Cyndi Lauper doesn't appear to be having much fun on "Cyndi Lauper: Still So Unusual" (8 p.m. Saturday, WE), a surprisingly downbeat reality series in which the pop singer glumly marches through the routines of performing, dressing up and putting up with her spoiled 14-year-old son.

Man in black

"Anthony Jesselnik: Caligula" (9 p.m. Sunday, Comedy) is evidence that a stand-up comic can do material on rape and get away with it -- as long as he knows what he's doing. Jesselnik might not be a household name, but he's seasoned enough to generate huge laughs while stepping into dark, dark territory.

Look Ma! Both hands!

What ever happened to the fishing pole? "Mudcats" (9 p.m. Sunday, NGC) is the latest series to feature daredevils who would rather use their hands than a rod and reel. In this case, the target is giant flathead catfish. The angler who catches the biggest one gets $10,000 and, we hope, a tetanus shot.
