MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State, Mankato, has named Aaron Keen interim head football coach.
As acting head coach, Keen led the Mavericks to a 13-1 record and the national Division II semifinals. The school said Monday his appointment will run through the end of the school year as a national search is conducted for a permanent head coach.
Keen was pressed into duty when head coach Todd Hoffner was arrested and faced child pornography charges for videos of his children discovered on his university-issued cell phone.
Hoffner was cleared by a judge, but has been reassigned to an administrative role. He has vowed to fight the reassignment.
