Tom Schattenberg MD was nothing if not a passionate man. He was a Mayo Clinic cardiologist who introduced echocardiography at Mayo in the late 1960's

His real passions revolved around more artistic pursuits, namely music and the arts. He played the alto sax with the Mayo band the Notochords and was an ardent supporter of the Guthrie Theater and the SPCO.

He travelled the world and proclaimed Petra in Jordan the highlight of his travels. He was a proud father and grandfather and a staunch liberal.

His legacy will be the importance of following one's passions.
