Dog day afternoon

"Dr. Who" fans: Prepare to go to the dogs. "K9" (9 a.m., Syfy), a spinoff about a robotic canine that first appeared in the iconic series in 1978, gets its U.S. premiere with a full marathon featuring all 26 episodes.

A Zooey Christmas

Last year, Zooey Deschanel presented us with the album "A Very She + Him Christmas." This year, she's providing fans with a two-hour marathon of "New Girl" (7 p.m., KMSP, Ch. 9), a sitcom that got instantly better the moment it realized it needed more than its star's goo-goo eyes to soar.

Dandy Andy

Spending the holidays with the actual Mickey Rooney sounds like a nightmare, but I can see settling in with the family to celebrate Christmas with his Andy Hardy character. A string of six films featuring the affable, ambitious young man kicks off with 1938's "Love Finds Andy Hardy" (7 p.m., TCM), co-starring Judy Garland.
