Kim Miller, of Eagan, watched her nephew, Logan Matala, 6, paint and draw at a Smiles for Sandy Hook Elementary art event Saturday at the Bloomington Theatre and Arts Center. The Minnesota Children’s Art Project brought hundreds of children and their families together to create small pieces of art to be given to the children of the Newtown, Conn., school. Ryliegh Powers, 4, of Blaine, looked pleased with her finished smile. Twenty children – all ages 6 and 7 – and six adults were killed in the rampage at Sandy Hook Elementary this month.
