Well, golly!

The chemistry between Andy Griffith and Don Knotts on "The Andy Griffith Show" didn't suddenly appear when the sitcom was launched in 1960. They had already bonded in 1958's "No Time for Sergeants" (8 p.m. Saturday, KTCA, Ch. 2), which might also remind you of the "Griffith" spinoff "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C."

Deck the halls

Have yourself a classy little Christmas with some of the best singers in the Midwest as more than 500 choir members and a full symphony orchestra celebrate "Christmas at Luther: Tidings of Comfort and Joy" (7 p.m. Sunday, KTCA, Ch. 2), taped at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.

Join the club

Those who are missing new episodes of "Boardwalk Empire" may get a kick out of Francis Ford Coppola's underrated 1984 gem "The Cotton Club" (7 p.m. Sunday, Ovation), which is also set in the Prohibition era. Richard Gere and Diane Lane make a dashing couple, as do Bob Hoskins and Fred Gwynne.
