  • December 9, 2012 - 3:09 PM

South St. Paul hockey defenseman Jake Hill enjoys the holiday season. The senior, who also plays football and baseball, likes it even more once there is snow on the ground. Here is a closer look at Hill:

What is your favorite Christmas carol, and why?  ''Winter Wonderland'' because I like snowmobiling with my family and friends.

What is the most memorable Christmas gift you have ever received? Mom and Dad bought a used snowmobile for my brother and I.

What is on your Christmas list this season? Watch; headphone beads; shoes.

The best movie I've seen in the past year? "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod: "Cruise" by Florida George Line; "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes; "Made in America" by Toby Keith.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Funny; athletic; efficient.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... like all the seniors wanted to kill me. I was a junior.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Beating St. Thomas Academy 32-31 in overtime [in the Class 4A, Section 3 finals] to go to the state [football] tournament last year.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? St. Thomas Academy. We both have great football teams and beating up on private schools is a lot of fun.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... running my own business, making good money, married to a good-looking wife.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? The only team that can defeat you is yourself.
