Gophers at a glance: Coming off a sweep at Vermont, the Gophers return home, where they're 5-0-1. They're 4-0-2 in their past six overall. ... They are one of three teams in the nation (along with Boston College and Union) that rank in the top 10 in power play (.230) and penalty kill (.905), rank third in the NCAA in goals against (1.77) and 10th in goals scored (3.38). ... G Adam Wilcox (8-1-2) leads the WCHA with a 1.46 goals-against average and is second with a .931 save percentage. C Erik Haula ranks fourth in the WCHA with a team-best 16 points. C Nick Bjugstad is tied for sixth with seven goals. ... LW Sam Warning, out nine games, may return from an upper-body injury.
Mavericks at a glance: Coming off a sweep of Alabama-Huntsville, the Mavericks, who swept the Gophers at Mariucci two years ago, have won six in a row. ... Junior Ryan Walters, a former St. Thomas Academy star, is tied with Haula for 10th in the nation with 16 points. Dominic Zombo has 10 points in the past five games. Andrej Sustr, a 6-8 defenseman, is a plus-8 and has 18 blocked shots. G John Faulkner is 7-0-1 and is one win from 46, which would rank second in UNO history. ... D Nick Seeler and D Brian Cooper are doubtful.
