The Vikings have officially ruled receiver Percy Harvin out for Sunday's game against the Bears in Chicago. Harvin is still dealing with pain in his sprained left ankle, an injury he suffered Nov. 4 during a 30-20 loss in Seattle. He hasn't practiced since. And his inability to return to practice this week with the tenderness in his ankle still significant persuaded the Vikings to put him on the shelf for this weekend's key NFC North showdown.
The Bears, meanwhile, received good news on their injury front with quarterback Jay Cutler cleared by an independent neurologist today, opening the door for him to start Sunday. Cutler suffered a concussion during Chicago's Week 10 loss to Houston. He then sat out Monday's game in San Francisco, a 32-7 Bears loss. But now Cutler will return to action.
Chicago is 25-11 with Cutler as their starter since 2009. In games Cutler hasn't played, the Bears are 2-6.
