ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Gophers men's hockey team left the 49th state's largest city Sunday morning with only so-so memories of Saturday's 2-2 tie with Alaska Anchorage likely rattling around their brains.

The 1-0-1 weekend -- the second-ranked Gophers (6-2-1, 3-2-1 WCHA) won 4-0 on Friday -- shouldn't necessarily be seen as demoralizing.

"We would have liked the four points," said junior forward Erik Haula, who scored Saturday's game-tying goal in the third period. "But going on the road, a win and a tie, it's not bad."

The Gophers sport a 55-19-8 all-time record against the Seawolves with their final WCHA matchup set for Mariucci Arena in January.

After going 4-for-6 on the power play on Friday, the Gophers went 1-for-4 on Saturday and went scoreless on a two-minute, two-man advantage in the second period.

"I think our power play was more simple [Friday]," Haula said. "[Saturday], we were kind of scrambling early, even though we had some good looks. It wasn't clicking like in the first game."

Sunday's WCHA game Nebraska-Omaha 6, Minnesota Duluth 3: Dominic Zombo had two goals and an assist as the host Mavericks (6-3-1, 4-1-1) swept the Bulldogs (2-5-1, 0-4-1) on Sunday.
