Hot Property: Rosewood Commercial, 2995 150th St. W., Rosemount

Details: A Savage-based developer has received some key preliminary approvals for the first elements of a proposed eight-lot commercial subdivision along Hwy. 3 south of downtown Rosemount.
The city's planning commission late last month gave its divided approval for the Rosewood Commercial planned unit development, a retailing hub put forward by developer KJ Walk.
City officials say KJ Walk owner Warren Israelson has lined up a 70-room Country Inn & Suites hotel and a SuperAmerica service station as the first occupants for the retail park, to be located north of County Road 42 (150th Street W.) at its intersection with Business Parkway.
The hotel, which would be run by a franchisee, would be built in one of the easternmost of the lots, nearest the Union Pacific railroad tracks. Original plans for the hotel showed a new-generation, international-style design, but those were later changed to a more standard Country Inn & Suites design.
The SuperAmerica station, meanwhile, would feature five pumping islands serving four cars each, a car wash and a 3,200-square-foot store building.
The rest of the property is large enough to hold either a future big box retailer, a grocery-anchored neighborhood-style center or a pair of smaller "junior box" stores, City Planner Eric Zweber said.
The project advanced despite concerns over traffic congestion in a nearby neighborhood and now moves along to the Rosemount City Council, which is to consider it Nov. 20.
