UPDATED WITH CORRECTION AND BACKSTROM CONFIRMATION
With squat going on between the NHL and NHLPA in advance of Thursday's deadline to get a CBA reached so training camp can begin Friday and the season can start Nov. 2, it sure looks like Sunday's charity game and auction that includes several locked-out NHLers will be a go.
The most updated roster is out for the Defending the Blue Line charity game at 7 p.m. at Mariucci Arena, and you can see it below. Retired Wild center Wes Walz is playing in the game, as well as Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, James van Riemsdyk and Dustin Byfuglien. There may still be a couple surprise additions, but what is below is confirmed as of now. The one subtraction is Mikko Koivu, who is about to begin his second SM-Liiga career with TPS. In Chicago on Friday night, several NHLers are also playing in a game called "Champs for Charity." The Wild's Suter and Jake Dowell are also listed to play in the game, while Niklas Backstrom has confirmed he is playing, too.
