It's a hoot

"Nature" goes north to the Arctic to explore "The Magic of the Snowy Owl" (7 p.m., KTCA, Ch. 2). By "magic," I guess they mean the animal's ability to raise young ones in an area that gets only 82 days of sunlight a year. Never gonna complain about Minnesota winters again.

Home cookin'

Former "Daily Show" contributor Mo Rocca goes from politics to cooking for "My Grandmother's Ravioli" (7:30 p.m., Cooking), a new series in which our host travels to home kitchens across the country, starting with a 76-year-old granny who specializes in Jewish cuisine. Let's hope Rocca remembers to sit up straight.

They will always love you

Some families prefer to grieve in private. Then there's Whitney Houston's family. "The Houstons: On Our Own" (8 p.m., Lifetime) follows daughter Bobbi Kristina and others as they come to grips with the loss of the legendary singer.
